Do you have friends or relatives who have felt lost or overwhelmed by all their new responsibilities in college?

At The New Community College, we’re determined to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

From the time you begin our admissions process, you’ll be meeting with our student success advocates, whose job is to help you make a smooth transition to college life. During the Summer Bridge Program and throughout your first year, you will be assigned to one particular advocate who will meet with you weekly in a group of classmates and arrange individual sessions with you as needed.

The weekly advisement seminar will be linked to your Ethnographies of Work courses once the academic year begins. You’ll go over the skills you need for success in college and career, from time management to financial literacy.

If at any point you begin to fall behind in your work, your student success advocate will be there to help you get back on track.
